It is easy to distinguish this from the pressed cane seat because there are actually holes drilled through the seat to accommodate the single strands as they are woven into a seat. Figure 3 shows a chair with a woven cane seat, and Figure 4 shows the underside of a chair in need of repair to show the holes drilled in the seat.
